Megan's seventh birthday started out slowly because she woke up with a tummy ache and fever. Her getting-sick-on-the-couch episode didn't help matters either! Our extended family from San Diego (Papa, Tita, Uncle Marc, cousins Ashley, Nathan, and Caitlyn) arrived with food and hugs, but Megan was still not feeling well at that time. While Megan slept on the couch, the rest of us ate food and quietly entertained ourselves until the birthday girl gathered enough energy to participate in her festivities. Megan decided that opening presents would be the way to ease her way into the party. She received lots of new clothes and a bunch of toys that had been on her wish list. Megan's energy progressively increased and after opening presents, she was ready for cake and fun. Her big, beautiful smile shows how much better she was feeling! That evening, after the San Diego relatives had gone, our family went to Rain Forest Cafe at Ontario Mills for a birthday dinner. Megan selected RFC because she enjoys the atmosphere and their kid's pasta bowl. To make Megan's dinner celebration special, her drink came in a brightly blinking cup (thank goodness none of us have seizure tendencies!!) and the staff gathered around to sing Happy Birthday to her as they presented Megan with a yummy-looking ice cream sundae. We ended the evening at home tossing around helium balloons in the living room. All in all, though it started out seemingly without promise of a good time for her, Megan's 7th birthday was a lot of fun for her!
