For her birthday, Lauren wanted us to redecorate her room. Lauren chose the "Sprinkles" comforter set from jcpenney.com and decided on the paint colors for her walls. Over two weekends, Vince and I scrubbed off the nursery rhyme wallpaper and painted over the old paint that had decorated the room since Lauren was a baby. I think Lauren's color scheme works well together. Here is how it turned out. Yours truly hand drew and painted the heart designs you see in the background! (Notice they match the designs on the sham and her bedsheets!)

Happy 10th Birthday, Lauren!
Our big girl Lauren turned 10 on October 9. She had her first sleepover party with her sisters, cousin Caitlyn, and her two best friends from school, Casey and Sarah. The girls enjoyed a design-your-own pizza dinner with a cupcakes and a bucket o' mud for dessert. They loved doing two craft projects - designing magnetic picture frames and creating personalized greeting cards. When the girls were not working with their hands, they played dress up, danced, and watched a movie. Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes, turkey bacon, and scrambled eggs greeted the early-risers the next morning, and before the party ended, everyone got to enjoy the beautiful southern California morning playing in the backyard on the swingset and trampoline.
